When the whole Arab Spring started from Tunisia, women were amongst the very front lines that kicked off these life changing protests. Starting from Tunisia moving to Egypt especially in Tahrir Square you could see women standing in front, next, and, behind their fellow men in their claim for a better living basically.
The question now is, as the face of these countries is under a massive reconstruction of constitutional rights will the face of women’s status be part of this change! Will the new governments be better supportive to women’s needs; changing constitutional articles, unfair social practices against women, and basically pays them fair and square for their revolutionary efforts they have showed.
My question to you is having seen Arab women’s brave role standing face to face against the most brutal regimes and being part of heading them off, will reconsider the predominant stereotypical views of Arab women and help spread the word? What roles have American women had that are considered revolutionary and changed the face of America in the 21 century? Do you think that the U.S would be of help to women in the countries that underwent the wide protests? If so how do you think the U.S can help?
Thanks a lot
